GoPro Selfie Stick With Inner Mic Space

This is a custom design GoPro handle / selfie stick I made to use while recording my trail / running sessions. It has a hollow handle designed to hold the cord for a microphone with 4 holes for the mic to pick up sounds with a through hole to manage the cord going to the gopro for the mic. It's designed to be as compact as possible since I have to slide this into and out of my hydration pack on the run and I didn't want anything catching or tearing off. It worked really well to record my footage of the Little Rock Marathon in 2018 with the sound very clear and crisp. The Mic I ended up using is this one - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N0EA3NC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 And for a $15 mic the sounds is pretty good, far better than trying to use the audio from the GP mics while it's in it's case. And running in the rain means you have to have the GP in a case. I drilled a hole in water proof case, a spare, and for light rains it's fine although your mileage may vary. Pro tip, get some soft wax and you can fill in hole if you drill the hole too large or your connection is square and it should be pretty water proof except for the hardest of rains or actual immersion. But that is no guarantee and if you fry your GP from drilling a hole in the case that is on you. A major problem if you use the built in Mic and don't cover the print with something smooth is the sound of your own calluses on the print lines will carry through into the audio. Suspending a mic in foam inside the handle helps a lot as does using smooth tape to cover the handle. The gorilla tape I put on mine was a jury rig last minute thing. I'll likely use some plastidip or something like that to give it a cleaner look. I also used some DIY pop filter from a pair of hose to cover the mic holes. This had no impact on sound quality that I can tell but it got rid of wind noise, not that I'm a fast runner but still. Test your audio before trying to use it for production.
