Gopro Session Cage with lug at the back

Gopro Session Cage with lug at the back

thingiverse

On my last skydive of the season, my original gopro housing broke while hitting the plane's housing. This was made from the best gopro housing I've found here. I modified it to have the lug at the back instead of underneath the housing to immitade the original gopro housing design. My gopro session is mounted on my helmet at the chin level so I needed to have the same angle of the housing when attached to it mount. Print Settings Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer: Ultimaker 2 Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.1mm Infill: 50% Notes: Printed in the upright position with full support for the back plate which will be lifted from the building board. This way the back of the housing will be rough but it is the less important surface of the design to my opinion. A little bit of sanding with dremmel solved the issue in no time. It is more important to have the interior of the housing smooth and precise to hold the camera correctly. Post-Printing Added larger opening at the back I originally printed a version with only 2 wholes at the back but it was so hard to remove the camera from the housing that I decided to enlarge the back opening (again by immitating the original housing) but I did not print the final version. How I Designed This Tinkercad first try I am a complete noob so this was designed using only thinkercad web application to modify the original source taken here. Thanks to the original author. Printed at 0.1mm precison, the small cut imperfections from the tinkercad cut & pastes are not apparent.
