Gorse Mulching Robot

This project, carried out for VUW ECEN425, aims to effectively remove large quantities of gorse in a short time frame. As part of a group effort, I designed the chassis and cladding. The robot features a tracked design with an articulated arm carrying a mulcher head, ensuring maneuverability and efficient gorse destruction. Poisoning of gorse stumps and dispersal of decomposing agents are facilitated by integrated sprayers attached to the mulcher head. Enhanced visibility during operations is provided by orange panelling and red lights, while a rear-mounted winch enables operation on steep terrain and rescue as necessary. The backhoe arm was sourced from a backhoe loader.
