Complete mechanical and PCB design of a GPS L1 square patch antenna with embedded LNA. This design is realased for public use and can be modified and manufactured by others for free without need of authors' permission. Electrical Specs: Band of Design: 1575.42+/-15 MHz (GPS/GALILEO L1) Radiation pattern Peak Gain At Boresight: 4.6 dBi Polarization: LHCP or RHCP, selectable by placing two resistors. Boresight X-polarization: -15 dB max. Ohmic Efficiency: > 95% Input Return Loss: < -10 dB (power transmission efficiency > 88%) LNA Gain: 36 dB LNA NF: 1.05 dB DC In at RF out connector: 3V to 15 V max, 17mA current drawn Mechanical Specs: Envelope dimensions: 100x100x10mm Mass: 120g PCB substrates: 1mm FR4 (3.8 < eps_r <4.3 ), 2 layers 35 um Cu Dielectric substrate: virgin Teflon (eps_r = 2.1), 6.5 mm thickness. Bolts & Nuts: M3, nylon. Complete documentationf for reproducing the circuit is attached: Gerber, drill files, bom, schematic. Notes: -The metalic square patch PCB must be facing towards the gndplane PCB, touching the teflon substrate in between. - The probe feeds are made of 1mm diameter calibrated wire (Cu alloy)
