Green Lantern - The Mother Ring (Multicolor/Multimaterial)

<p>I don't know much about comics, but one of my friends could probably recite the entire timeline of the DC comics universe, and then some. We searched for an existing 3D design for the apparently all-powerful Mother Ring from the Green Lantern comic series, and found nothing relevant. Using pictures he took from Green Lantern comic classics, we created this wonderful design! <em>Edit: 3 years later, I don't have my friend's original picture but I included a reference image that is most accurate to the one we used.</em></p> <p>This has been sitting at the top of my unpublished drafts on this site for a while and I thought this would be a great time to finish it. The original model is more than 3 years old; I have recently gone back and completely redesigned it to fit the proportions of our reference image better, as well as adding compatibility for multiple colors. This was all made in TinkerCAD; I swear, anything is possible in that program if you have the patience.</p> <p>Provided is a "full" STL meant for single-color printing, whereas the p1, p2, and p3 files are meant to be used for multimaterial printing with corresponding colors.</p> <p>The inner ring has about a 2cm (.8") diameter, and can be scaled accordingly. If you are unsure if your finger will fit the default diameter, I highly recommend printing the single color version first--it usually takes less than 30 minutes--and scaling up or down from there.</p> <h3>Print instructions</h3><p>This can be printed without supports if laid horizontally. However, this wastes a whole lot of material when using the Prusa MMU, so if you are looking to save filament I recommend printing the "colorful" side facing up and using supports.</p> <p>The small yellow dots on the front are pretty small and may be difficult to get to show up without proper resolution, whether it be nozzle size or layer height (I used 0.10mm layer height and 0.4 nozzle, but the lower the better!).</p>
