Gridfinity Shelving - 5x2x3, 5x2x2, 4x2x3, 4x2x2, 3x2x3, 3x2x2 - For Magnetic Support Base Gridfinity Why have I only just found out about Gridfinity? - Gridfinity is basically a modular tool / part storage and organisation system using parametric sizes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ra_9zU-mnl8 Shelving There are plenty of designs for most of what you need on here and 'Thangs' with lots of remixes, but I couldn't find anything with regards to 'shelving', for increased storage efficiency. Printing and Putting Together I designed the shelving to be printed on an Ender 3 v2. For the 5x2x3 shelving, you'll need to disable 'rim' for it to be accepted in Cura (if using that). You'll notice the bases are in 2 parts - A base, with loads of holes in it and a 'bottom' part. The idea is that you put all your magnets into the base, then simple turn it over and put a drop of superglue through the holes. It makes it quicker and saves your fingers being glued. Once all the magnets are in place, glue on the bottom part. Speaking of gluing your fingers - I've also included 2 'glue jigs'. This doesn't just help saving gluing your fingers, but also alleviates the common problem of accidently gluing in the magnets the wrong way around so that they're repelling, not attracting. To use the glue jigs, you glue some magnets in the holes provided (on the jig), then turn the jig around and add the magnets that will go in the container to the jig (separated by the plastic). Put a dab of glue on each magnet then place the magnets into the holes of the containers with jig and hold there for a minute. Note - This is for placing magnets into the 'containers', not the base. For the base, I did use the base jig, but only to orient the magnets the correct way around before transferring to the base. Also Note - I did not design the jig. That's thangs to 'Jools' (https://www.printables.com/model/188559) Magnets 6mm x2mm Neodymium Magnets: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07RT9MY52 If you find a good source where you can get more in bulk and cheaper of these type of magnets, please let me know! The magnets don't need to be that strong but they do need to be dimensionally accurate.
