Gridfinity Vasemode Hybrids

prusaprinters

These are hybrid prints for the gridfinity system by Zack Freedman, meaning you have a box you print in vasemode, and feets to that, that you have to print normally and then glue to the box. (i used doublesided tape)

The User LittleHobbyShop (on thangs.com) has made a few fantastic vasemode prints for single boxes, but as we all know, its not possible to print the others in vasemode.

(ok, with the trick to print the first 19 layers as the bottom layer, but this will lead to no actual savings in material or printing time), or without using Simplify3D (this has a mode, where you can mix normal and vasemode prints in one go, BUT Simplify is expensive).

So here i made a few super simple boxes, in the standard height, and in the sizes of 1x2 to 1x6, and 2x3 to 2x4.

To every vasemode print, you then have to print the feets (two per box) that fit... i have feets for the 1 grid wide boxes, and feets for the boxes that are 2 grid wide.

The boxes that are 2 grids wide i personally would print with a 0.8mm nozzle in something between 1.2 or 1.6mm layerwidth. Then they are really solid.

Have fun printing!
