Grill for Adafruit Speaker Set (re-mix)
thingiverse
I created a custom design from scratch, but drew inspiration from the original source material. When Sketchup failed to cooperate, I switched to AutoCAD and used calipers to measure everything accurately. The overall dimensions and hole specifications came directly from adafruit's reliable resources. With calipers in hand, I carefully replicated the center grille details. A friend who received the initial print asked me to modify it by removing the bosses at the screw holes. I accommodated their request without hesitation. The first photo shows the model as seen from the bed side view, while the second image captures its appearance from the nozzle perspective. This custom piece was printed in high-quality PLA material using a 210-degree bed temperature and 60-degree layer adhesion settings. The print resolution was set to 0.2mm with 30% infill density. I chose not to use any supports or rafts, instead opting for a smooth finish on the glass printing surface. The results are stunning, thanks in part to the innovative purple aquanet coating technique pioneered by tobycwood.
