Grippy Cup

Grippy Cup

This is a cup designed for an insert that is used by my wife who is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. This design came from seeing something similar and, through many discussions, we came up with this final model. My wife works with children that have various mobility and dexterity issues thus she uses this to help them learn how to drink from a cup, along with other things. In her job she creates tools, and other types of assistive things for the benefit of the children she works with. You are welcome to print this and use it yourself; however, AT YOUR OWN RISK. This is also the 6th prototype thus is it not a completed model but should function well enough. Hopefully I'll be able to publish some pictures, etc. I don't remember the link to the previous version of this cup; however, I'm not listing it as a remix because I ultimately ended up scrapping the stl I was originally working with and starting from scratch. I made multiple changes --Different handle to accomodate small hands. --change overall dimensions, again for small hands. --tapered the "cup" portion to allow for the angled insert rather than a straight cylinder. --Changed the "cut" so that it had a rounded bottom so that there is less stress in the corners --beveled the top edge --Lowered the sides compared to the insert as too big of a cup negated the purpose of the insert. --beveled the edge of the handle If I find the original Stl again I'll attach it.
