This is a 3D model made from a scanned cast of the burrow of a Mole Cricket, Gryllotalpa vineae The burrow was scanned so that a 3D print could be created and wired with speakers to play the recorded sound of a singing cricket. The cricket sings from the rounded chamber between the two horns. The acoustic role of the burrow is not fully understood and this model allows researchers to understand how the burrow might amplify sound.
