GS35B burn in fixture

thingiverse

This is a burn in fixture for a Russian GS35-b and GS31-B series of vacuum tube. I originally made this with very thin walls so you may want thicker walls if you make one or need to use it more than a few times. The idea here is that you will attach a 12 Volt computer fan and it will be attached to the same power that you bring into the fixture for the GS35B vacuum tube power supply. I usually just tack a couple of wires to the cathode connections. Why would somebody want this print? When building ham radio amplifiers out of Cold War surplus Russian vacuum tubes such as the GS35-B series of Russian tubes Usually you need to run the cathode for a day or two to soak up any stray ions that are contaminating the vacuum. This fixture lets you sit the tube inside of a chimney with a fan blowing across the important bits of the tube while you apply 12 volts to the whole setup and burn in your tube. This will allow you to apply full voltage to both the cathode and anode connections right out of the gate. Good luck with your amateur radio projects!, God bless 73, N0NZG!! This whole thing is a work in progress so check back for further updates and refinements.
