GT2 belt joiner - super small and strong

thingiverse

This is a super small belt joiner that is very strong, and very simple to print. Here are the steps (1) Cut off a small piece of belt that is 7 bumbs long, and scrape off the rubber on the back so that it is thinner (see small bit of rubber in last photo) (2) Place the ends of your long belt together and overlap them with this short piece of belt so the teeth fit in together (see 3rd photo) (3) Slide the 3D printed cover over the joined belt. Its tight fit stops the belt from separating. Add a bit of super glue to stop the 3D plastic sliding. You now have a belt. Because the 3D plastic cover just fits the belts inside, there is no room for them to lift and part. So it's actually a very strong join.
