This is a protective cover for the GT40 fender battery on the Onewheel XR. GT40's port is known to not survive crashes because the jack carries the brunt of the force in the event of a rollover. There are designs (including a metal one from the GT40 team) out there with beefier protection around the ports, and I recommend you use them if your GT40 is mounted over the top of the fender. Since I mount the GT40 to the back of the fender where the port is safely tucked away, I opted for a low profile design. After all, minimalist look is the reason I bought the GT40. For a little extra strength, use epoxy or superglue to glue down the power port cover so it doesn't spin.
