Guitar Hero Xplorer Strum Switch Bracket

Guitar Hero Xplorer Strum Switch Bracket

thingiverse

This is a Cherry MX Mechanical Key Switch bracket for Guitar Hero X-plorer video game controllers. This should be used if your strum switches are wearing out, you want a different feel to the existing ones, or something breaks outright. This design was tested with Kailh BOX Navy Keyswitches, but should fit any standard issue full-size Cherry MX style switches. While not required, I found that taking four Kailh BOX Navy sitches in total, where the springs are taken from two and doubled up with the ones in the other, (leaving to dead switches, and two working double-spring ones) makes for an extremely satisfying, fast, and 360-les-paul-like strumming experience. Just give it a few songs to break in. That said, experiment with whatever switches and combinations you like most! (probably before soldering) Tested in an Xbox360 Xplorer controller, this design is VERY unlikely to fit other models, but they remain untested. Soldering connections to the new switches will be required to make this work!. This design is as close to the right size as I could make it with my limited experience, so feel free to tweak it as needed.
