Guitar Nut Slot Jig

Guitar Nut Slot Jig

thingiverse

This is a simple jig to cut the nut slots on a guitar nut. First you make sure you neck is flat with no relief by adjusting the truss rod, then you insert a Stewmac or Hosco nut file into the slot on the jig, put a little duct tape over the file in the front to keep it from slipping and file parallel to the neck! It will give you about .6mm string clearance over the first fret. The slot should be wide enough to take up to a .046 gauge file. I printed this on a Prusa mini and the slot is tight vertically to hold it well but I don't know how it will print out on other printers. Let me know how it goes.
