This is a gumball machine, that could be used to help students learn different ways of making objects work. It has a simple mechanism on the inside, which makes it easy to learn how to assemble it. I used a glass mason jar to hold the gumballs. Make sure you make your threads right! How I Designed This This gumball machine was simple to make, and I learned a lot while making it. You can leave your machine simple, or you can use fillets and chamfers to make your design nicer looking. I strongly encourage you to design your own, so you can learn all that I did while I made mine. Step 1 First, I came up with a design for a gumball machine. I pretty much just sat and figured out how I wanted it to look. Step 2 Step 2 is to create your project. I used Inventor so I could 3d print my project, but you could use a laser cutter if you want. Just make your files, so that they will work with however you choose. Step 3 Make your project. Print it, laser cut it, or do whatever way of making it real that you want. This is the final step. All you have to do after this is have fun. Custom Section Objectives The objective of this project is to create a working gumball machine. Also, to better your understanding of your computer software. Audience The best part about this project, is that anyone can make one! It doesn't matter if you've already graduated school, just get out there and do it. Preparation You have to have the software to make it, but then, you learn as you go, so you don't even need to know anything to make it! Steps The steps are listed above. Results At the end of this project, you should have a gumball machine. You should have learned how to make your own, and have a working model. As long as your machine works, you should get an A!
