Haenau - Z and Hot Bed

Just trying to keep up with the documentation, and some instructions. see:http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1091057http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1091774 This is primarily for the Z motor-mount, and the heated build plate. To keep the cost down, and make construction simple, I used a pair of shelf brackets, bolted to a sheet of acrylic, which, in turn is bolted to 3 or 4 linear bearings, and the lead screw/nut. resting on the front two holes (from the shelf brackets) I have a small scrap of MDF flooring tile, a long M3 bolt, and a strong spring (removed from a bottle of hand wash - absolutely perfect!!). And a similar arrangement, at the back, But I used a long thin strip, approximately 50 - 60 mm wide, and 30 - 40 mm longer (left & right) with the central mount, This gives a 3 point leveling, but basically, you will normally only use the front two screws. because they are right in front of you. As for the Z & Motor mounts, This need to be absolutely vertical, both (as viewed from in front) roll & pitch need to be spot on. Although, using a good ruler, this should be simple enough, A photo coming soon !! As for the connecting high current cables, Use the thickest you can afford, that still remains flexible, I used some 4 core speaker cable, and a 4 pin Hard Disk Drive tail, the one you have just cut of that old PC power supply. But if you look at the thermal image, you can see the HDD cable, only around 100 mm gets a little warm. in comparison !! I have also used a chunky relay, witch, with the heavy cable, has reduced heat up time from 14 Min down to an amazing 3 min. As for my HOT BED, I have an aluminium build plate, which is insulated with a 4 mm thick cork mat, which is in turn held in place with my burnt out PCB heater. Hope to do some measurements and experiments, to get the maximum amount of heat out of the heater, and the smallest amount of wasted heating.
