Halcyon Data Tape (Two Sided)

Halcyon Data Tape (Two Sided)

I took stormtrooperguy's single-sided data tape and made it two-sided. I also combined the knob and rivet models to make it easier to print, paint, and glue to into the model. I made this for my wife who participated in the engineering activities on the Halcyon (Galactic Starcuiser aka the Star Wars Hotel). I wanted her to have something that reminded her of her unique experiences during this amazing adventure. The first picture is a reference photo of the actual tape. The second is the one I made. I have since altered the file even more. I had to add supports for the build plate-side of this and then clean them out, so that side might be a bit rough. I also learned to let the model rest and cool slowly so you don't get the unevenness on the surface. You will need to print two gears, outer rings, knobs, and rivets for both sides of the print. I spray painted the data tape and outer ring gloss white, the inner gear and knob brass, and the rivet aluminum. I then hand-painted the gray and black bits. Note: The black rounded squares in the upper-right corner are numbers as represented in the Star Wars universe. It currently shows the number three (my wife's has no real number... shhh... don't tell her).
