Half Dodecahedron, Making Your Own Dodecahedron Taking things apart and reassembling them is an important part of doing mathematics. It is fun to see how things come together in mathematically accurate ways. To build a dodecahedron, we can start with a regular pentagon with a certain side length and then extrude at a taper angle of [ atan(2)-90 ] for 1/12 of a dodecahedron. Then, we could repeat 5 mirroring operation of this pentagonal pyramid for 1/2 of dodecahedron. And it takes two halves to make a whole. Of course, there are other ways to do it. Have fun!
