Half-Flywheel HO Scale Flatcar Load

Half-Flywheel HO Scale Flatcar Load

thingiverse

This is an HO Scale flatcar or gondola load of half of a large 20-foot diameter flywheel for large industrial machinery of the late 19th century. Large cast steel or iron objects like this were often made in two or more parts to be more easily shipped via rail. In this case, the flywheel was made in two halves to be bolted together at the destination. This model is split down the center, it needs two identical prints glued back-to-back to make a complete model. The resolution is much better printed flat against the bed than upright as a whole. To make a whole flywheel you will need four identical parts. If scaled properly it might make a great model in a open well flatcar or a depressed center flatcar.
