Do you have "Half-Frame" 35mm film strips that you want to scan? These were once used on film strip projectors and possibly movie film. There were also a few "Half Frame" 35mm still picture cameras. This adaptor can hold such a film strip, and makes scanning up to ten frames in a row fast and easy with a Plustek OpticFilm 7x00 or 8x00 film scanner. Tested on an OpticFim 8300i Ai, it made scanning a rare film strip a snap. I designed this to be very similar to the original Plustek 35mm negative strip holder but simplified it for ease of printing. In use, version V4 is a bit "loose" in the OpticFilm's guide rails, so V5 has been made slightly wider. In either case, the indexes are spaced correctly so that the holder "clicks" into place consistently for all 10 frames. This was printed in Black PETG though there is no reason PLA or ABS couldn't be used. Try to use black filament with a matte finish to avoid reflections. Also, set your slicer for smoothing on top surfaces so that damaging the film can be avoided. Loading an uncut film strip into the holder so that all 10 frames are filled results in both ends of the film hanging out. This makes inserting the holder into the OpticFilm difficult. Use a thin strip of plastic or card stock to support the end of the film while feeding the holder in to prevent the film from getting caught in the scanner.
