I use my trusty FT-991 for my base station, but I use the RJ-45 Mic rather than dropping some serous coin on a desktop mic (That's apparently a joke because the 991 series are not particularly cheap to begin with...). This holds it nicely and it's easy to lift out or reset. I had fun hollowing out the inside to reduce the weight.
