*** Just noticed... stl is upside down. Print with the slotted end up *** So, I got tired of buying new hand mixers (Hamilton Beach 6-Speed Hand Mixer) due to the gears wearing out. I contacted Hamilton and they said they don't sell the gears. After replacing two units (each lasting around 3-4 years) due to same gear failure as seen in attached photos, and with my new 3D Ender 3 printer, I decided to make my own gear replacements. I used Tinkercad.com to design them. ( https://www.tinkercad.com/things/2OcipHNOb3D) They work great. I'm not sure yet of their life as I just installed them. Will let you know. To test later this week with making Christmas cookie dough. =================================== **UPDATE** 1 Jan 2020 - Happy New Year The PLA gears only lasted for one batch of bread rolls. Same failure mode as the nylon gears. Wish it could print Nylon. I don't know. Maybe 3D print a mold and then put epoxy inside? or Liquid Nails? with a removable 3D printed shaft. =================================== **UPDATE** 7 Feb 2020 I printed a set with ABS and it seems to work a lot better. Using these I have made banana bars, frosting, and pancake batter. Granted not high torque mixes, but it hasn't failed yet. :)
