A mechanical, hand-powered Canadian coin sorter. Can sort out Canadian coins from Pennies all the way to Toonies (except the 50 cent coins). Post-Printing Clearing the holes. You may want to use a 2.5 mm and 3.2 mm (or similar sized) drills for clearing out the holes in each part in order for the M3 screws to be properly bolted down.. How I Designed This For me this was definitely one of the biggest CAD projects I have done so far. I had several jars of coins I wanted to deposit into the bank but sorting them out was too tedious for me and I wanted a faster way to get them sorted out. Sure I could have purchased a coin sorter but all my cash was in the form of loose, unorganized change. There have been certainly coin sorter designs that are out there to be 3dprinted, but I found them to be way too slow for my liking, and my they don't take loonies and toonies! So I decided to design one for myself. I wanted it to sort coins in a fast and efficient manner, but did not jam, and if it did, be easy to remove. Also, it had to be able to sort all the Canadian coins in circulation (Including the penny). My design had inspiration from mostly the Klopp coin sorters because it could be hand-powered, fast sorting and did not jam. Being mechanical in nature, I did add some tolerances with parts to improve fitting with one another. My overall design could use some improvement though, I did have jamming issues with the coins grinding against the walls and I the coins seem to have too much friction against the rails and are not rolling down as I like it to be. Additional Parts Needed M3 screws are required to bolt everything together, I designed the appropriate holes so that the screws can thread into the plastic M3 Bolts if additional part security is needed. I personally used M3 x10 screws for this build.
