This tool has been used for ages to produce yarns with human hands. There is a need for sliver and a piece of yarn in order to spin hand yarn. This sliver could be obtained in many different ways. Start combing a group of wool fibers. And then gradually reduce the amount of fibers in the cross-section till it fits in your palm. Put the sliver between your two fingers. Pull the fibers gently towards the ready yarn piece which is knotted to the bottom of the spindle. Join sliver fibers and ready yarn gently and twist them together by your fingers. After that stage you shouldn't loose your fingers, grab fibers and pull them gently towards the ground consistently with a small amount of twist. This is a repetitive work. It takes time to get familiar with it.
