####Idea and Sources I made the crossfire2, a 3d-printed quadcopter, which came with a case for the gopro. First I designed a mount for my actioncam, that I owned at that time, the rollei. Then followed a runcam and at last a xiaomi yi. I redesigned the gimbal to work on three axis instead of two and all worked well. Than I had the idea, to make a handheld gimbal from those parts and I remembered the rig by Thumber (that I remixed to use it with a smartphone as well). ####Components All I had to do, was design a simple base plate to fit to the rig. I added a motor mount an a plate to carry the controller. There are no dampening balls as there are no propellers running, that cause vibrations. You can use nylon screws to mount the board. I used a self-adhesive velcro pad instead. So I can remove the board when I need access to any of the connectors. Underneath the plate there is a slot for a velco strip to attach a battery. I used a STorm32 controller, three 2208 motors and a 2s-lipo. As I added no joystick so I use a Pan-Hod-Pan mode. See the video to understand how it works. https://youtu.be/OVhpZQHUhlQ I add a screenshot of the PID-Settings for the run cam as well. See the Storm32 Wiki on how to set those accordingly to improve the performance of your rig. ####Parts The rig and the baseplate are common for all cameras. The arms and cases are named in a way, that you will know how to combine them. You will need some 3mm screws a velcro strip for the battery and maybe a velcro pad to fix the controller as well. ####Printing The gimbal_arm0 needs support and the cases do as well. The baseplate has to be printed without support standing upright. You will find the FreeCAD-Files of most of the parts in the remixed sources.
