Make handles in sheet materials eg plywood easily with this router guide. This is a simple parametric openscad model for making a guide useful for cutting out handles using a router, with a flush cutting bit. Mark out where to cut the handle, then mount the guide with some small screws onto your sheet material. Drill a hole large enough to clear the cutter, route out the handle hole using the guide to support the bearing of the cutter. The flush cutter will leave the hole with straight flat edges. To make a more comfortable handle, after removing the guide, use a radius cutter with a bearing on both sides of the hole. Loads of screw holes provided so you can be picky about where you need to secure the guide. Neat handles every time! You need to save both "router_arc_guide.scad" and "router_handle_guide.scad" into the same directory to make use of this design in openscad yourself. Alternatively you can download and print the .stl file and it's ready to go. This model was generated with an opening of 120*30mm at the largest dimensions.
