I've printed and used Bryce's [awesome Transmitr remote mount](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2875028), but I just can't leave well enough alone. Considering the remote is held to the stock mount by screws, I was curious if it was possible to use those screws to install the mount and avoid the need for a zip-tie. Not only was it possible, this design actually uses the two screws that come with the stock Transmitr mount, so it requires purchasing _no additional hardware!_ **Okay, what is that?** If you're not sure what the Transmitr remote is all about - it's a remote that pairs with Bontrager's excellent Transmitr lights so that you can control the lights from one location. It can pair with up to 7 lights and control high beams/low beams and even act as turn signals when paired with the right taillights. It's a slick system that I find indispensable for quickly and easily adjusting light intensity while doing night MTB rides. Drop the brightness down to preserve the battery while going slower or riding between trails, and then up the brightness as the speed increases. See [the Bontrager lights page](https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/equipment/cycling-accessories/bike-lights/c/E312/) for more information. **But what about my road bike?** Yep, this design is aimed towards flat bars with a 22.2mm (7/8") diameter, so won't work on road handlebars. Here's [my version for road handlebars with a 31.8mm clamp diameter](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3492042). As another option, I'd suggest using Bryce's awesome [Transmitr remote headset spacer](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2865993). **A note about the red tape on my brake lever** I ride through the winter and have discovered nothing pulls heat away from fingers like aluminum brake levers. Aluminum has great heat conduction and as such does a great job of transferring any warmth from your fingers to the cold outside air. Throwing on a couple layers of gaffer's tape during the winter provides just enough insulation to keep fingers warmer. _You sure seem to do a bunch of Trek/Bontrager related stuff. Do you work for Trek?_ Yep, I work part-time in a Trek-owned bike shop, but that's it.
