I created this stamp set for children I work with in the school system who are unable to form basic handwriting strokes due to neurological impairments. The base screws in to the handle and I used velcro dots on each piece to fix them to the base so they can be easily switched out. The pieces make up the basic strokes in the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum (again... no affiliation; just developed out of need!). Because they are plastic, the pieces either need a very new ink pad (in my experience) or they can be used with playdoh or putty.
