I made a couple versions of dust shoes that slip onto the Makita router, and uses the hardware from the Makita shoe. I used a 1/8" piece of foam and hot glued it for the "skirt". Works great, zero cleanup. Made for my smaller shop-vac with a 1.25" diameter suction tube. One has a small lip so you can just wrap around the diameter, the other you have to wrap the skirt around the whole part. Both work great. Also, I made a bracket with a circular channel to hook up an air cooling line to. I picked up a small, fairly quiet pump to give the bit cooling when cutting aluminum or plastic. The dust-shoe also has a window so you can use both at the same time, and they don't interfere.
