Hard Disk Drive Case (2.5 inch SATA)

2.5 inch SATA hard disk drive (HDD) case with allowance for SATA to USB connector. Very easy to print and super compact using 2 mm wall on the top and bottom parts. Great for re-purposing old drives from outdated computers or for brand new drives. Two models are available, one for 10 mm thick HDD and one for 7 mm thick drives. The two halves are bolted together with M2 nuts and bolts/screws that do not protrude outside the case. For the 10 mm thick model, use 12 mm long M2 bolts. For the 7 mm thick model, use 8 mm long bolts. You will also need 4 nuts (M2 size). Other types of threads (imperial) will also work as long as they can fit in the 2.5 mm diameter holes (0.1" diameter). 2-32 screws will fit with lengths of 1/2" for the thicker model and 5/16" for the thinner model. The USB connector that fits into this case (both sizes) is available on Amazon for $10 to $15. It's made by Sabrent (model EC-SSHD). Just look for "sabrent sata to usb" on Amazon and you'll find it easily. Just compare it to the photo to buy the right model. It is USB 3.0 type A and there is also a model that comes with a type A to type C adapter if you prefer. They are both the same dimension and will fit into both case sizes (7 mm and 10 mm). I've included the SolidWorks models for both sizes (saved in SW 2019), so feel free to modify all you want!
