Hard Drive Cover

Hard Drive Cover

thingiverse

This cover screws onto the bottom of the 3.5 inch hard drive. If you want your drives to have a custom look or if you need to just protect the PCB from dust if they are mounted upside down. I have included both screw fixing distances (bigger capacity hard drives normally have different screw spacing). All of suffix 1 have one spacing and all of suffix 2 have the other spacing. Each spacing type have the plain model, my branded DonLabs model and one with my brand and Barracuda (as I have a Barracuda drive myself). If you would like a different brand from Barracuda (like Western Digital or Hitatchi) just send me a message and I will see what I can do. One of the pictures the layers look really thin as I was experimenting with showing the infill and I didn't want to wast too much material on a non structural part but I decided it looks better with thicker top and bottom layers. Make sure you use the little spacers to bring the cover away from the PCB. This will minimise sag due to heat from the drive and also I am not sure about the long term effects of warm PLA touching delicate PCB such as static or leeching. DISCLAIMER: ONLY DO THIS IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE INSTALLING PC PARTS AND ALWAYS FOLLOW ANTI STATIC PROCEDURES
