I replaced the stock 4 piece moderator with this 2 piece version I designed. The stock version was loud, very loose in the shroud and the pellet holes were WAY oversized. This design has very little clearance between these parts and the shroud and both parts have a tight conical pellet hole. The cup slides in (open end) first and allows maximum airflow to blow back through the shroud nut along with the reduced pellet hole. I created a larger 1st chamber for the initial blast instead of 2 as the second seemed to do nothing. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad and know nothing about moderator design, I just know this got a lot quieter. On the baffle I opened up the surface area to the felt to absorb anything left over from the initial chamber. The stock versions had flash left over from molding and very little exposure to the felt. The baffle requires a 75mm x 63mm piece of felt to be wrapped around it as it slides into the shroud. NOTE: Be sure to remove the Z axis seam inside the small hole of each part with a file as there is very little clearance for the pellet. This works extremely well and seems to maintain accuracy and is very quiet. Updated to include .177 and .25 caliber. Untested but same concept and design as the .22 that works very well. .177 caliber version 0.217 diameter hole on the cup and 0.237 diameter on the baffle. .22 caliber version 0.26 diameter hole on the cup and 0.28 diameter on the baffle. .25 caliber version 0.29 diameter hole on the cup and 0.31 diameter on the baffle.
