This is a pair of shims to improve the kickstand on the Bike Friday Haul-A-Day cargo bike. The kickstand legs are mounted to a split collar that rotates around a lower frame member. Unfortunately, the collar tends to wander sideways over time until its braze-ons strike the frame. This locks the kickstand in place. To release it, you need to lift the tail of the bike and nudge the kickstand back to center, which is difficult when loaded with cargo! The shims act as guides to keep the split collar centered. They clip around the lower tube, with their tabs secured to the frame by zip-ties. I printed mine in PLA and it has held up fine after 6 months of daily use. Hint: Before installing these shims I recommend checking/adjusting the bolts that compress the split tube, then securing them with threadlocker. Otherwise they will loosen and come apart when you least expect it!
