HDMI Cable Fixer

HDMI Cable Fixer

Tired of HDMI cables coming loose? Ever ruined the video section of an expensive AV-Receiver by jiggling HDMI cables? HDMI cables have one mayor shortcoming. The normal cables cannot be fixated at your Components. While there are specialized cables with screws available, these are hard to come by, expensive, and you may already have invested in high-end cables. I was looking for solutions to this and found a few products, which were all not for sale publicly or long out of stock. So this small thing is inspired by one of the products I found, Simply use the screws above the HDMI port on your receiver or other device and a zip tie. The pictures show how they are attached and assembled. In depending on the material and shape of the HDMI plug you have to pull the zip tie pretty tight. If the small cable fixer still slips use the long design. The longer fixer appears to be the more stable option in general. I updated the original design to: * thinner front wall where the screw is mounted, as many AV components have very short screws. * added a long fixer to be able to attach directly to the cable in addition to the plug.
