This is a replacement headlight socket retainer to replace the original which my motorcycle lacked. After 30 years old plastics become brittle and break, this apparently happened to the previous owner of a 1981 Suzuki GSX250E leaving me with half of a headlight retaining socket. the retainer is unobtainable for the most part, you can either source one from a parts bike, order an entirely new headlight online or order an entire used headlight just for this one part and even if you do find an old one what are the chances of that one being brittle and snapping? I designed this to hold the 3 keyhole style headlight bulb socket and screw into the reflector using the same mounting points as the original socket retainer. You can insert the cabling through the hole in the retainer so there is no need to remove the sockets connector (for the GSX anyway) and there is a gap for the ground wire which usually attaches to the socket chassis. Many headlights from the time (1970s-1990s) used a Koito reflector and as a result have similar headlight socket so there is a good chance that this might fit on other Japanese motorcycles from the time. I printed mine in Esun PETG and have had it on my motorcycle for 3 months and it has not melted or moved around in the headlight. I would not recommend printing it with PLA as it will warp in the sun and may not stand up to the headlights heat. Due to 3D printer tolerances this may print differently on your machine than on mine, if you have issues with tolerances then change the scale of the part in your slicer of choice.
