Heat Bed Corner Glass Adapter - Wanhao Duplicator i3 Plus

Inspired by http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1257772 But made it from scratch in OpenScad. In my case I've got 5 pieces of glass cut by local glass store, they are a bit imperfect, so in some cases it is required to use an adapter to fit it firm. Also this model includes an M3 Washer and M3 Nut hole. Attaching STL model which should fit a popular size glass sold on amazon (200 x 213 mm). By printing the model, you will have only two corners covered. For other two corners you have to mirror it in the slicer programm or use OpenScad model to adjust the sides. Print Settings Printer Brand: Wanhao Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 Plus Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 90% Notes: Use a filament matterial with the highest melting point available. For example, if you make it from PLA plastic, and will use with the heating bed for printing ABS, the corner will melt with the bed temperature over 85 celsius How I Designed This Settings y_lenght, x_lenght :: The length of the corner sides not including outer border. outer_border :: how far this model will stand out of the bed glass_thickness :: my glass is 3mm thick but I've used 2.8 value to give a little bit more room over here, as bottom layer of the top surface is not perfectly straight, but curly and wavy bed_thickness :: my bed has a Wanhao M3 pad on it. So it is bit thicker as default heating bed. Also I've added 0.2 mm to keep the global model size the same, after glass_thickness parameter. y_thick, x_thick :: THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT. How far the side will overlap your bed, depends on your glass size. under_layer :: Thickness of the bottom of the corner model, the part which is under the bed. bolt_area :: small hole in the top surface to be able to insert a bolt Adjusting an Openscad I've used my small library 3d.scad to make my life easier, so you should also download it in order to have main model working. Place it into LIB folder one level up or just simply adjust the path in the beginning. Washer and nut holes This model is not ment for snuggling by M3 bolt, washer, nut. It let the nut to go through. But only prevent it from moving to the left or right. A snuggling is achived by selecting a proper distance between bottom and top surfaces. bed_thickness setting should be used in the open scad model.
