Heat The Print Bed (without a heater) Attempt #2

thingiverse

This is a heating alternative for the Printrbot Simple 1403 with E3Dv6 hot end (might work with standard UBIS). Are your print edges curling, prints coming off the bed in low temperatures? Although sunny Singapore doesn't have that problem, my prints go haywire whenever someone switches on the air conditioner and sets the thermostat below 25C. This simple deflector harnesses the exhaust heat from the hot end and directs it onto the print bed. Overall it has achieved a 3 degree Celcius increase, not much but enough to keep large prints flat and small ones on the bed without a massive overhaul to add a heat bed. The open vent allows the cool exhaust to blow through and not onto the bed. Print Settings Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Notes: I printed with a 2 layer raft as it prints high but thin. Support suggested, unless you're very confident of your bridge settings.
