A different heated bed i designed for some selfsourced Mendelmax 2 3D printers. The design goals were: get the assembly more sturdy and safe for transportation increase the power per area to ~ 0,4 W / cm^2 reduce psu load and current by using 230V compatible to common reprap hardware and Mendelmax 2 + 1.5 design A big thank you to the folks at Kiboplast (www.kiboplast.de) who helped me with sourcing and manufacturing of all the parts needed. Video of the heated bed being used:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uo64K0kqBeI Preassembled set should be purchaseable at www.kiboplast.de Instructions The plates are to be lasercut out of 4mm thick aluminum alloy sheets (AlMg3 / EN AW-5754 or equivalent). The 350 W silicone heating pad is attached to the top plate with high temperature resistant silicone. Wiring according to the wiring diagram. Depending on the solid state relay used it should only be operated in "bang-bang" temperature control mode. The top plate is bolted onto the lower plate with M5x25 bolts, preferably with lower heads. As a spacer / spring some 12mm-8mm silicone rubber tube around 15mm long works fine.
