Get rid of springs and additional plate and mount heated bed directly to rails plate with these mounts. # Benefits 1. Additional 1.5-2 cm height to print surface 2. Wider X and Y print surface if you were using paper clips to hold heated bed as I did. With these mounts the heated bed is mounted directly with 4 M3 screws. 3. Reduced mass of print surface leads to less vibrations and better print quality (theoretically). # Additional actions & items needed 1. 4xM3 screws 2. 4xM3 nuts with nylon insert. Nylon keeps the bolt in place on vibrating surfaces. Though this is optional as M3 threads keeps the print plate pretty solid. 3. 1 or 2 M4 additional screws 4. AUTO_BED_LEVELING_BILINEAR enabled. As we get rid of leveling springs I highly recommend use the bilinear bed leveling. You can check my marlin configuration for examples here: https://github.com/Pawka/marlin-melephant Just please do not use it straight forward on your printer without additional calibration as I'm using different extruder and replaced some other parts. Use it as example only. I highly recommend print it supports with stronger material than PLA. E.g. PETG, ABS would work. Though I was able to use much thinner PLA mounts to print PETG parts - probably those won't last long. PLA becomes soft around 50-60C temperature which is my usualy heated bed temperature too. Using PETG or ABS makes supports more robust.
