Heavy Metal 30x30 Canopy Mod

Heavy Metal 30x30 Canopy Mod

Wanted to run 30x30 stack on my Heavy Metal frame so I remixed the 43 degree version of the original canopy. I used the HDZero Nano 90 version. Should work for several other nano cams. My AUW with battery is nearly spot on for the spec weight 1280 grams. Your build will vary depending on what stack is used as well as motors, and how many LEDs you decide to run. ***To do the 30x30 mod, you will need longer flat head stack screws and you'll move your 10mm standoffs to the outermost arm holes. I used 35mm screws as I only mounted the 30x30 stack to the frame and my vtx was mounted in the canopy. If you want to mount your vtx on the 30x30 stack, you'll want 45mm screws. Here's the screw kit I bought: https://www.amazon.com/iExcell-Stainless-Internal-Drives-Screws/dp/B07DDFR9Y3/ref=sr_1_11?crid=3TSRZWOG8OXSQ&keywords=iexcell+m3-0.5+flat+head+screws&qid=1693229720&sprefix=iexcell+m3-0.5+flat+head+screws%2Caps%2C109&sr=8-11 ***Optional: You can dremmel a slot on the end of your arm to allow your arm to slide into the 30x30 stack screws instead of having to pull a stack screw if your arm breaks. I added pictures to show this. I also made a little 20x20 adapter if you wanted to run your vtx inside the canopy. Then I just use the HD jst plug to plug into the FC so the canopy is more modular. Could do something very similar with analog vtx as well. Nothing fancy, I just glued mine in lol. Use it if you like it. I'm not very experienced in CAD and made this in Tinkercad lol. Please don't ask me to make a different version or upload a step file. Hopefully you can get some use from this one or mesh mix your own version if you need.
