RENDERING STEP / IGES

In my opinion this design fully meets the conditions proposed by the project.

1. it is a new design
2. don't need to manually insert/remove and lock/unlock container connection twist-locks
3. can be used on existing shipping containers in circulation
4. easy of manufacturing
5. inexpensive
6. the weight will be similar or lighter then the twist-lock.

The disadvantage of this design is just that it requires a system adapted to the lifting system, but the container spreader will eliminate manual locking and unlocking. The crane will have to lift the container from the lower edge in order to simultaneously release fastening system. The level of automation will be higher. It will eliminate human mistakes and human accidents. Implicitly the operating costs will decrease. The tensile strength is much higher than the twist-lock.

I have not proposed this design to be beautiful, just useful.

Principle of operation: The lock can be manually mounted, the leaf spring allow the latches to retire. If you press the latch with a lever the lock will be released. When the crane pulling up the lock framing, the framing will pull up the latch and free the lower container. The housing will fall due to its own weight. The latches will be kept together by the leaf spring. Cuts in housing were made so that the parts stay together. The housing will remain with the framing as long as the spring hold the latches open. The leaf spring has an important role because it is the most critical component.

I almost forgot, there is a spacer between containers. If 10 containers are mounted side by side the center of gravity of the load will fall by 10-15 cm.

There is room to optimize the tolerances, the dimensions and the latches form.
