Helios 2 Coeus Class Clipper

Welcome back!Well, to be honest, yes your eyes don’t deceive you. Theres 3 models here, well 4 actually counting the Helios Revival Model with its Clipper. So… How the hell did that happen? Well there’s 2 answers, the real life one, being indecision and multiple different design decisions and deciding which would best for this audience and the playable narrative that Helios Design and Development Team had to make some alterations over time in order to get it right. So let’s spin with that one. Yes, you the person reading this where ever you are matter. It means a lot to me that you get what you download. As an Engineer I’ve thrown a lot of challenging prints up here, but they wouldn’t be here if I couldn’t make them myself first. So please enjoy the challenge as I do :). IDK what Im going to do with all these things, but keep handing them out as presents lol!Anyway, here’s 2 more Coeus Class former Ares Class Clipper Ships. The V stands for version, yes this one took till 9 to get the design right for me, but some notable ones to pick from that made it thru the Ender KE and onto this listing for you to pick from. If beauty is in the eye of the beholder… truth behold; one either could use better glasses or really enjoy Design Intent and form follows function over clean cut and Star Trek like glossiness. But your a Babylon 5 fan, so I gamble that you get this ;) Their so nitty gritty. YUM.Anyways, V9 is the final iteration of the Clipper for the Helios 2 program. The Ships finally livable and functional. The Ships mission is to gather more data on Helios’s Telescopic Target of interest. It’s one thing to photograph something, it’s another to reach out and touch it. If you read that and work for Boeing, please reread that over and over again till you get it!The Ares dates back to a time where Earth had not discovered Jump Gates yet. And it’s filling with up to date technology from the Helios / Ioannis collaboration teams. Makes sense as it’s so messed up looking from its original form. The Hanger Deck up front has been removed to fit the Jump Engines, or I guess one could also say trigger activation mechanism to crack open a jump point into Hyperspace for Travel. The Hanger is placed rear Midships with Port and Starboard egress and enlarged to support expeditionary craft. Forward of that is the Elephant in the Room. The Rotating Habitat and Scientific Network along with the ships Combat Information Center.Just like ships of old, supporting teams and indeed areas of the ship were networked yet separated to focus on the unique tacks to blend together to inform the Commanding Officer of a collaborative effort to supply said individual with all the best information to make a well informed decision to move forward. This ships purpose again is to break into Alien Held Territory to get a close look to gather information for Helios to process. That’s a lot of factors to process on so many levels and a potentially parrelous task. Which is why it’s armed. Most races here in which are targets of interest are not younger, aggressive or maybe even care about the ships being there. Yet remaining in hiding is probably the best bet for survival. We’re talking, Vorlons, Shadows, Walkers of Sigma 957, the lot. So yes it has defensive batteries, but to be brutally honest, only enough to keep away younger races who would pose a threat. Tricky business. ITS AN OLD SHIP! Very old, so life onboard would be complex, complicated and confidential. And to be honest, the reality is a ship of this long service life so heavily modified would have its own laundry list of problems. Which Leads to the Support Ship. These Clippers would rely on these ships for a plethora of problems.But the mission is set, the board is green… mostly, and it’s time to get busy. The Support Ship is zero G, so crews would also have to alternate between ships to sustain their physical health and well being, So with that said, I did not add external hallways that one might expect connecting the Forecastle Command and Navigation Center. Why walk, there’s no gravity? That’s right, it’s work rooms, Storage Areas, and small tubes to pull yourself thru to get from area to area. Let’s face it, the Design doesn’t hold anything back, its support, its logistics with a pass on pass off crew. No creature comforts here. Only Rooms where work has to be done. We have a Hanger Deck up front, and mostly Scout Sensor Equipment Operation Rooms through out the ship. 2 Large Storage areas make up most of the design to Support the Clipper. there some Anti-Fighter Defense Grid Guns as well and a massive amount of equipment onboard for scientific measurements and the Hangers busy with crew swap outs, supply logistics and sample collection duties. It’s a busy, high stress Ship. Vessels are.They work it all together, and without the crew, the ship is just a metal hulk without a mission. I’d like to claim both designs fortify that obersvation. It’s a clusterf##K. But I think what you would see closer to our real time line.Further more, Let’s stop with the Satallites and get some ships out there. I get it, NASA wants to gather more and more info to figure out what we need to do it, but for f##k sake, just do it already. Go meet Voyager… Anyway, Here we are, the tip of the sword, the Coeus Clipper and its support ship. Let’s see where the data brings us from the missions ahead. 2260’s coming fast. Im sure when I have time and a well deserved vacation from this intrinsic story chaos clash, there’s going to be some pretty cool stuff coming forward. Oh, honorable mention, the Explorer Ships are pulled from the Rim, that only makes sense here. Could they be made into modern Planet Killers again? We Shall see. ;)Enjoy!-JHSorry Boeing!
