This component houses five light-responsive resistors, with the four bottom ones differing in shading by X to direct the array towards the brightest illumination source. The topmost sensor at X's base deactivates the device when sunlight is obstructed by clouds, ensuring the system doesn't search for non-existent bright spots. The two pieces are bonded using superglue, with the smaller one serving as a mounting bracket.
