You'll need a standard size 6000 bearing (ID=10mm, OD=26mm, w=8mm) I used igus since it comes in their free sample box, has low internal friction, and is great for an outdoor environment. https://www.igus.com/product/459?artNr=B6000B3E https://www.igus.com/info/company-sample-request-com Video of it spinning: https://youtube.com/shorts/dZ6t6FMfYnI I wanted a wind catcher for my garden and couldn't find any models I liked, so I designed something that could fit on my printer bed (success), and looked cool (debatable). The Helix_v2 rotor is composed of three equidistant lofted airfoil profiles, each spanning 120degrees of the outer cylindrical envelope. The spindle facilitates mounting the bearing onto a 9-10 mm diameter pole (I used a bamboo stick from the dollar store) **************** In retrospect, I would make the aspect ratio of the turbine taller and narrower, to prevent any air from passing thru without harnessing it. To mitigate this, I created the helix_vanes which clip on. After installing them the turbine is EXTREMELY sensitive to wind from any direction. It spins very easily.
