When affixed to a horizontal object like a counter top, this allows the removal of head and blade of a Henson AL13 Safety Razor with one hand, while keeping fingers away from the razors edge. This might work with other Henson safety razors, I can only test the one I have. 4 screw holes are an optional attachment point, I use a command strip to hold mine down.
