**2/17/2020 Update** I might be done updating this design now. I created plastic thumbscrew nuts for the 1/4-20x1/2" & 1/4-20x1" hex screw. Now I do not need any extra tools to tighten or loosen the recorder or pistol grip. The thumbscrew nut for the recorder is bigger to give you a better grip. I could only make the one for the handle so big to fit the handle. **KnobTripodHexNut_5.stl** is for 1/4-20x1" screw that mounts the Pistol Grip **KnobTripodHexNut_5A.stl** is for 1/4-20x1/2" screw used to mount recorder to sling **TascamPistolGrip_WithThumbScrew_Wide.stl** is the revised Pistol Grip **2/15/2020 Update** I added a pistol grip for this recorder that I remixed from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:694716 I just retraced the profile along the centerline of the grip, extruded it, rounded the edges & added a hole for a 1/4x20x1/2" Stainless steel screw. I got a Philips head screw, but would probably prefer an allen head screw. I printed the grip with only 10% infill & no supports except for a wide brim. The grip feels very good. I initially printed the grip in Vase mode to see how it felt before doing the final print. **2/14/2020 Update** After 1st test of this while walking along a stream, I changed the 1/4x20x1/2" thumb screw to a 1/4x20x1/2" hex bolt since the thumb screw has less clearance between the 2 parts & can potentially hit the bottom part if it bounces enough. I could make the base taller, but would make it less compact. You need a wrench to tighten the bolt, but that is a minor anoyance. I am going to work on getting more mountain streams using this new mount. Here is a link to some audio recordings I did with mountain streams previously with this recorder. http://www.zewind.com/audio.htm I remixed this from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:549999 to work with the Tascm DR-100 mk2 audio recorder. Thank you digital_dentist for giving a good starting point for this design. The Tascam is approximately 150mmx80mmx35mm in size. There are only 3 parts to print for the final assembly. 1. **ShockMountBase_V3.stl** 2. **Mount_Sling.stl** 3. **Shims_14_Inch_3mm_4mm_5mmHt.stl** I initially made a simple handle grip for this, but found my mini tripod will work just as well for me. I have a little bit better mini tripod I will also try. There are 2 files you can print for test for fit to see if this will work for you. 1. **Mount_Sling_TestSize.stl** 2. **ShockMountBaseTestTNutHole_V3.stl** First test print will show you how the recorder fits on the mount & if you need a shim to use with this or not. I had to use the 5mm High shim with mine. Additionally you will need a 1/4-20 T-nut. a 1/4-20x1/2" thumb screw & rubber bands. With that length thumb screw which is the shortest I could find you will need a shim. I made some guide holes for the T-Nut spikes which you should be able to seat in place by using a tripod mount screw or a 1/4-20 bolt. I was able to seat it with my Manfrotto quick release plate screw. I initially was going to use just one rubber band on each end similar to what was used in this design I remixed, but after one broke, I opted to use 2 short rubber bands on each connection which is a lot safer. I will probably make it 3 instead of 2. My rubber band broke probably because it was old. Make sure you use newer rubber bands. My 1st test recordings around the house worked well. I will test it in the forest soon. I printed these with esun PLA+ using my normal settings of 20% infill & 3 perimeters & .2mm layer height. Everything on the recorder should be accessible without taking the Mount_Sling off except for the optional AA battery compartment. The tripod mounting hole on the recorder is too close to that compartment to be able to design an opening for it. I have never used AA's on this unit, so it didn't concern me. It might be possible to make that a slotted hole there, but would probably be risky that the recorder would come loose.
