This is a replacement encoder wheel for the HERO 2000 robot. There are 4 of these used on the arm and another three in the base for the torso movement and the two base motors. These also work well on the Arm trainer base that uses the same arm. Over the years many of these encoder wheels have become damaged (Bent or broken) or have simply been lost. Not to worry. Now you can print your own replacement! If you need any help getting one of these arms in shape or with the robot let me know. I have many extra original parts as well as upgrades for them and can help with documentation and repairs. Print Settings Printer: PowerSpec 3D Pro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .2mm Infill: 30% Notes: I've had excellent results printing these in ABS on glass with an extruder temperature of 230 and a bed temperature of 100. Sliced with extra top and bottom shells so the encoder portion is 100% infill. The regular infill setting for the rest is 30%. I also specified a concentric exterior fill pattern on these for a clean look. I highly recommend using a glass build plate since they come out perfectly flat. There is no reason these shouldn't work in PLA if that is what you're comfortable with. Post-Printing Part cleanup before installing. You may need to lightly debur the inside of the D shaped hole for the shaft but otherwise this should press right onto the motor shaft snugly. Use of the metal spring clip from the original encoder is optional. So if you are missing the wheels and don't have that spring clip you shouldn't need it. How I Designed This This is a fairly simple design made using TinkerCad. Took a few revisions to get the center hole and hub the proper size but the final result works well.
