--- UPDATED 5th July 2017 ---Hero hand is a 3D printed bionic hand designed for 5-year-old Jack. Hero-Hand relies on electrical signals produced by muscles in the arm to open and close the hand. Designed to fit around a child’s arm, it can fit any arm, rather than just those who are missing the limb. With straps securing the arm and simple parts which are easily re-printed and replaced the arm is not outgrown. Designed for both functionality and to be aesthetically pleasing for the child, the Hero-Hand can be easily transformed into any hero the child looks up to, by printing three new parts. The two covers transform the design into child’s newest craze while housing the electronics and 3 servos which control the arm. Hero-Hand incorporates three main functions, grip, pinch and index finger movement. This enables all main functions for any situation the child may encounter without being too complex and confusing for them. The basic model of this arm costs around £200 to produce, compared to other prosthetics that can range from £20,000 upwards. This arm is fully customisable, affordable and adaptable making it perfect for young children to feel like they are Hero’s.Contact: Batesbionics@gmail.comBatesDesign@outlook.comInstagram:Bates_Designhttps://www.instagram.com/Bates_Design/
