***UPDATE 08/07/2020*** After having tested this solution for some time I became dissatisfied with even the improved flow from V2. A water test under the duct showed that the airflow from the HeroMe duct is directed at too sharp an angle for an E3D style nozzle and therefore it largely misses the tip of the nozzle. The bullseye duct has a far more straight flow from the duct and so I decided to experiment with this. After about 8 iterations of the new base I found one that achieves perfect overhangs until 70 degrees. You can find the new bullseye base here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4419315. Note that it also supports 2 x 5015 fans via the adapter I made linked in that thing. ***UPDATE 21/05/2020*** Due to shape differences between the 2in1out heater block/nozzle and the stock heater block/nozzle I have identified further room for improvement with this cooling solution. Unfortunately it means that even the ducts need changing since the angle that the air leaves them at is too sharp for this nozzle which sits high up. I am working on a new duct and will post when done and tested. ***UPDATE 19/04/2020*** Forgot to mention that I use a nozzle to probe offset of #define NOZZLE_TO_PROBE_OFFSET {-49,-12, 0 } Also if you are looking for how to get your firmware and slicer upgraded to work with this then check out my other thing here. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4298762 ***UPDATE 29/03/2020*** The version 2 base is complete. The cooling performance relative to V1 is incomparable. Do yourself a favor and print V2 if you printed V1. You will not be disappointed. In addition to better cooling performance you now also have a duct and hotend nozzle that sit a lot closer to the X-carriage which means that you no longer lose out on about 1cm of print area on the y-axis. Unfortunately, these improvements required a trade off and that is that the ABL mounts are no longer compatible with the original Hero-Me and will require minor modifications to work with this version. I have produced a modified BLTouch mount. If anyone would like another mount then mention so in the comments and I will produce one for you. ***UPDATE 24/03/2020*** Hold off on printing this. I'm almost done on V2 which has much better air flow direction and also allows far greater use of the print area. I've printed it and am about 90% of the way through the installation. Once I can confirm that it works I'll upload it. ------------------------------------- I picked up a bigtreetech 2in1out extruder and wanted to use it on my ender 5 with a hero me cooling solution. Another user (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4115704) updated the hero me for the 2 in 1 out extruder but that was only for the ender 3. This is the update that should get it working for the ender 5. This is only the base. All of the other original parts from the hero me gen 3 can be used. Also note that there are a few rough edges here and there but nothing that should affect the usability of the part or slow down the print. I have printed and installed this. It works well but requires patience during the install as the whole X-carriage will need to be removed in order to fit it. NOTE: I did not have the time to pay attention to the length of each screw that I used. I recall using M3 for everything though. If someone who makes this would like to contribute to the community and add a comment detailing the length of the bolts that they use then I am sure that others would appreciate it. *****IMPORTANT***** If you decide to use this then you will likely also have to raise your bed to avoid losing around 3cm of build space on the y-axis.
